At the Saint Louis Zoo , it's an adventure every time you visit!
The Saint Louis Zoo is set across 90 acres in a beautiful Forest Park, and is actually home to over 600 species of animals from ALL over the world. Many of these are rare and endangered, so kids will really have a treat to see something special as they walk around this popular zoo.
In fact, the zoo many have over 600 species of animals, but that equates to over 16,000 actual wild animals within the park. Pretty incredible!
You know what else we love about St Louis Zoo? It's one of the few zoos that offer FREE admission in the nation! Even more of a reason to head there!
This adorable zoo began back in 1910, and it's known for it's beautiful naturalistic exhibits, as well as it's diverse collection of animals from across major continents.
There are SO many things to do and see at St Louis Zoo. At the Rivers Edge, kids can see bush dogs, black rhinos, Asian elephants, cheetahs and hyenas. You can walk on The Wild side and experience grizzly bears, puffins, penguins, polar bears, primates and more.
The Discovery Center is home to the Emerson Children's Zoo, where kids can enjoy additional learning and hands-on fun as they discovery butterflies, and play with goats and guinea pigs, and even explore the Insectarium too!
Take a stroll through the Bird House and Garden, as well as the Primate House, or hoof it up to the Red Rocks as you're greeted by lions, jaguars, tigers, zebras, kangaroos, and other hoofed beasts.
Fancy a dip? Of course you do! Lakeside Crossing is where you can hang out poolside at the Caribbean Cove, open seasonally.
Let's not forget about those other activities that you can enjoy for a small admission, including the carousel, 4D theater, shows and railroad.

Driving is a convenient way to visit the Saint Louis Zoo! The Zoo is located next to US 40/I-64. All-day parking is available on the Zoo's North Lot on Government Drive and South Lot on Wells Drive. It costs $15 to park a car and $30 to park oversized vehicles

Through the Zoo’s WildCare Institute, the Zoo focuses on wildlife management and recovery, conservation science, and support of the human populations that coexist with wildlife in 12 conservation hotspots around the globe, including three in Missouri.

In addition to animals, rides and fun, dining at the Saint Louis Zoo is part of the experience! The Zoo has something for every taste and diet. Enjoy mouthwatering Midwest favorite eats as you wander the grounds, including burgers, ice cream, BBQ, hot dogs, and some special drinks for parents too!
The Zoo is pleased to be a hot spot for Pokémon Go. However, to all those enthusiasts who are hunting Pokémon, please remember to stay in public areas of the Zoo
There are a host of chops for animal-tastic merchandise and gifts, as well as shops to pick up provisions you may need across your day! Two of the shops are open seasonally, but plenty of others across winter time!
The Zoo Education Department offers programs designed to help students of all ages and abilities learn through experience, involvement and discovery, but you have to register beforehand
